Russians fucking up things again..

Russian building company Rosstroi took over a plot of land rent for finnish port companies Container Finance and Moby Dick co. with a support of russian police (lol)..

weeks before that these same Rosstoi bitches blocked any finnish cargo traffic for days.

Container Finance and its subcompanies had rent this plot at Kronstadt port near Petersburg for 50 years (with contracts etc..) and now this local company just took it over with corrupter police.

sry for lack of recources but it was hard to find any articles about this in english.. this one at SL Õhtuleht.ee

Conflict between Finnish Company and Russian Real Estate Authority Escalates
Published 16.05.2007, 18.33 (updated 16.05.2007, 20.46)

A serious confrontation occurred on Wednesday in the Russian port of Kronstadt near St. Petersburg between the Russian real estate authority Rosstroi and the Finnish company Containerships., which operates a container terminal there.

Rosstroi has been trying to take control of a parcel of land that has been leased by Containerships.
Rosstroi, which is building a protective dam across the eastern end of the Gulf of Finland, has been hampering the activities of the container terminal for more than a month. Methods have included blocking access by trucks to the area.
On Wednesday, it deployed bulldozers to remove a fence around the property. Finnish employees trying to prevent the removal of the fence. Russian police who were on the spit did not interfere.
Containerships has said that it is willing to allow Rosstroi to use the property while the construction of the road to the dam is underway, but the authority wants to take over the area completely. Containerships sees the action as an attempt by the Russians to take control of a successful business.
The incident is the first violent confrontation in the conflict between the Finnish company and Russian officials.
Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva sharply conemned the attack, and said that Finland would do all it can to resolve the problem through diplomatic chanels.

yeh, well see how long Russia can play its game. could play long though, they have almost unlimited recources...
some assumptioms have been made, like russia is aiming back to merchantilism.. maximal exporting and minimal importing, tariffes, monopolies etc.. Russia has been making Finland all kinds of tariffes, for finnish wood / paper companies for example. we have to pay for importing wood from Russia to Finland, which is kinda... lame. as only russian byrocracy benefits this.. the less wood going out at west border, the more there's unemployement, for russians living there mainly.
